History

Snowboarding originated in 1965 when Sherman Pop pen, an engineer from Michigan, invented the first prototype snowboard, which was initially called the “Surfer.” The sport evolved through the contributions of others, such as Tom Sims, who helped popularize modern snowboarding in the 1970s. The development of equipment and style progressed over the years, leading to variations like split-boarding and the contemporary snowboarding we see today.
